Description: Come hear amazing songs by some of Yale's most exciting and famous alumni - and be the first to hear what the composers in the Shen Musical Theater writing program at Yale University are up to! You'll see an amazing cast of Broadway's finest voices, including Jenny Powers, Jonathan Shew, Sally Wilfert, Michael Winther and J. Michael Zygo. Want to know what stars loom on the horizon? The concert also showcases singers from the current class of Yale's musical theatre performance curriculum - Rebecca Brudner '16, Laurel Durning-Hammond '14, Zina Ellis '15, Benji Goldsmith '14, Gabe Greenspan '14, Nathaniel Janis '14, Lucie Ledbetter '15, Jeremy Lloyd '14, Ian Miller '15, Christian Probst '16, Lily Ashira Shoretz '16, and Jeremy Weiss '15.
Explore new works by Yalies Stephen Feigenbaum, Peter Foley, Andrew Gerle, Adam Guettel, Sarah Hirsch, Jeremy Lloyd, Richard Maltby, Jr. and David Shire, Michael Mitnick, Chris Peters, Alex Ratner, Joshua Rosenblum and Joanne Lessner, Zak Sandler, Ted Shen, Mark Sonnenblick, Jeffrey Stock, Ben Wexler, Maury Yeston, and one of Yale's most illustrious alumni, Cole Porter.
The evening will be directed by Annette Jolles and features Grant Wenaus on piano, Stephen Benson on guitar, Greg Thymius on clarinet, and Clay Ruede on cello.
The concert also showcases arrangements by some of today's most exciting new orchestrators, including Martin Lowe (Tony Award-winning orchestrator of Broadway's Once), Matt Aument and Neil Douglas Reilly.
